Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian & Charity Establishment (MBRCH) has spent an amount of AED 58 million to support the medical, living or community initiatives of combating “COVID-19” Virus, in cooperation with the official authorities working on the ground.
Ibrahim Bumelha, the Advisor to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs and the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Establishment, has confirmed, in a briefing, that “UAE reflects the meanings of the mutual support and solidarity between the various groups of the society and provided ways of decent life for all citizens and residents of the State, according to the continuous directives from the wise leadership.”
Bumelha has stressed that the Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and the “Community Solidarity Fund Against COVID-19” affiliated to the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai have always been the source of joint humanitarian efforts and the proper methodology to combat the Pandemic and its negative consequences on some groups of the society.
Bumelha has appreciated the timely guidelines of the wise leadership to combat the outbreak of the novel virus "COVID-19" and implement the precautionary measures taken by the UAE concerned authorities to confront its spread, mitigate its complications on a large part of the society that needs the support and assistance in this critical period. At such time, He has praised the aspects of partnership and coordination between all authorities and entities in order to translate the plans them into action programs and executive plans for the interest of social security to confront such pandemic to reach to an integrated work serving the citizens and residents; and, mitigating the negative consequences resulting from the epidemic.
“The first programs supported by the MBRCH aimed at providing primary support for the efforts of the "COVID-19 Command and Control Center", affiliated to the Crisis and Disaster Management, by providing the ventilators, and then followed by a second support to the same Center, by providing the ventilators, supplies, and consumables for the medical cadres through the "Community Solidarity Fund Against COVID-19" which is launched and established by the Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, so that the total support provided by MBRCH to the medical efforts reaches an amount of AED 26 Million”, Ibrahim Bumelha expressed. Bumelha added that “MBRCH interacted with the "10 Million Meals" campaign,.
Bumelha said that " MBRCH has provided the aid to the emergency cases of the families that have been affected by the complications of" COVID-19, ", In addition, MBRCH implemented the "Foodstuffs Support Basket" for the abstinent families across the Emirates.
Ibrahim Bumelha added that “MBRCH has, through its work team, implemented the project of the ready-to-eat meals in the residences of the quarantined workers, where such residences are equipped with the highest standards of health, packaging and distribution, in addition to providing quantities of various consumables such as sugar, tea, dates and water in this Holy Month.”
Bumelha added that " MBRCH also contributed in providing a number of learning devices such as laptops and smart tablets in order to support the efforts of the Ministry of Education to successfully implement the Distance Learning’s initiative.
