In cooperation between the Mohammed bin Rashid Charity Establishment and Dubai Health aiming to treat 100 children “Nabadat” initiative to conduct Heart Operations for Egyptian Children

As one of the Zayed Year initiatives and under the patronage of the international initiatives of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity and Humanitarian Establishment; Nabadat initiative comes to help and save lives of children who have congenital malformations in heart. The medical team of “Nabadat” initiative, launched by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity and Humanitarian Establishment in cooperation with the Health Authority in Dubai, started conducting operations for Egyptian children to treat birth deformities within the second campaign of “Nabadat” initiative in the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt. The medical team will conduct 100 various operations for children age from 1 day to 12 years during the campaign term of 9 days in the University hospital in the city of Kafr El-Sheikh located in northern Egypt, in the Nile Delta region.

The medical team of “Nabadat” initiative, includes medical and administrative staff consisting of 30 persons, arrived in Cairo on Monday morning, then went directly to the city of Kafr El-Sheikh on a humanitarian mission of “Nabadat” outside the UAE. During this initiative a number of complicated surgical operations will be done to Egyptian children. These operations will vary from open heart surgery to therapeutic catheterization for treatment of birth deformities, and diseases of heart valves and heart arteries.

H.E. Ibrahim BuMelha, Advisor to the Ruler of Dubai for Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable and Humanitarian Establishment, stated that this campaign is the second “Nabadat” campaign in the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, and the establishment covers all the costs of operations scheduled to be performed during the visit of the medical team, and provides all necessary logistical supports which are essential for the success of the medical team’s mission. The team has been prepared, formed and selected of cadres with high medical skills and excellence in this field, in cooperation with DHA, to treat the largest possible number of Egyptian children during the period from 17th to 25th of the current month of September.

BuMelha explained that the campaign of “Nabadat” in Egypt aims to treat 100 Egyptian children who suffer from congenital malformations. In general the campaign targets the destitute classes who do not have the ability to afford the high cost of such operations, as patients do not incur any of the operations costs nor the expenses during the period of recovery after surgery.
