To Preserve the Profession of Fathers and Grandfathers, Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment Supports Dubai Fishermen Co-Operative Association

                    As part of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment provided a financial support of AED 500,000 to Dubai Fishermen Co-Operative Association in order to support citizens of different UAE communities and overcome the difficulties facing them so that they can be productive individuals for themselves and their nation. This comes as part of its strategic plan to alleviate the burdens of daily lives for the needy individuals in the community in line with the domestic aids system followed by the Establishment.

HE the Advisor Ibrahim Bumelha expressed his gratitude and warm thanks to the directives of the sponsor of the Establishment, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, May Allah protect him, to inspect the conditions of UAE citizens, solve their problems and overcome the obstacles facing them. He explained that the support provided by the Establishment to Dubai Fishermen Co-Operative Association aims at backing the UAE fishermen and encouraging them to work in fishing and organize its relative activities so that it can be a permanent profession for the UAE fishermen.

Bumelha added that the Establishment supports the UAE fishermen and their associations in order to provide all forms of interest and care and encourage them to continue the profession and encourage other young citizens to enter this profession. This is because this profession is one of the most important economic sectors in UAE in enhancing the utilization and conservation of fisheries resources by the sons of this country, as well as the provision of marine food in the food security sector. Moreover, fishing is a heritage as it is a profession handed down from grandfathers to their sons who are endeavoring to develop it to serve all segments of society.

Ibrahim Bumelha stated that such support is the fourth cooperation between the Establishment and Dubai Fishermen Co-Operative Association. The Establishment has earlier funded fish farms established with funding from the Establishment, as well as the funding of the nano-ice plant, which produces 20 tons per day of salty and fresh ice. In addition, the Establishment issued petroleum fuel cards to fishermen at the state level to benefit from them in their work and facilitate their access to fuel at suitable prices.

Major General Mohammed Saeed Al Marri, the Chairman of Dubai Fishermen Co-Operative Association, expressed his gratitude and happiness with the continuous care and support provided by Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment to Dubai Fishermen Co-Operative Association to develop the fishing profession and the means of the conservation of fish and fish industries. He spoke highly of the role played by the Establishment in going ahead with the charity work to reach the goals of our wise leadership for achieving the lofty human meanings and providing help to everyone. He stressed the importance of supporting and strengthening the means of permanent and mutual cooperation and coordination between government institutions and the private sector, and the role assigned to everyone in the national work arena so that serving the community would be among the most important initiatives of strategic plans for institutions to reach the goals and objectives sought by everyone through consolidated and concerted efforts, which are in the interest of the segments of society in UAE.
