The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian & Charity Est. has inaugurated the Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan School in the Philippines to celebrate Zayed Humanitarian Work Day this year, as part of the initiatives organized by the Establishment to celebrate this occasion, which is dear to the heart of every Emirati. The aim of establishing this school is to follow the path, steps, and principles of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, who was known for his unlimited support for the Islamic peoples in their educational activities, with view to securing the future of the generations to come, and equip them with science.
HE Mr. Ibrahim Bumelha, Cultural and Humanitarian Advisor of HH the Ruler of Dubai, and the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian & Charity Est., said that words fail to give credit to “Zayed Humanitarian Work Day”, as it is a national occasion, that derives its worth from the traditions of the late founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him. It is also a day to celebrate Zayed's biography and constructive life in light of the achievements of the UAE, which has positively impacted the lives of people around the world. Bumelha added that the school was built to accommodate 480 students, and the cost of its establishment was five hundred and forty thousand dirham. The Establishment equipped the school with all school and office furniture. The building consists of three stories, each with four classrooms. The school has 12 classrooms covering all stages of the primary, intermediate and secondary education. The school also has administrative offices, a reception hall, toilets and other facilities.
Bumelha also added that the Establishment has also inaugurated the Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Mosque in the Philippines, following the approach of Sheikh Zayed, may God have mercy on him, of building mosques, which were his beloved and honorable places. He built mosques to draw close to Allah, and benefit Muslims. He built mosques wherever there are Muslims all over the world as mosque is the cornerstone of adherence to their religion and the dissemination of the great message of Islam. Bumelha indicated that the project of building a mosque in the Philippines is part of the Establishment's keenness to support friendly peoples around the world to meet their needs. The place of building the Mosque has been chosen on the recommendations of the authorities there; an approach that was followed by the late His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him.
Bumelha said that the mosque, which is 720 square meters, has been constructed at a cost of AED 540,000. It is a two-story building. It includes a main praying area for 1,400 persons, with a large dome in the middle, and a women's praying area with an outside minaret and sanitary facilities for men and women. There is also a storeroom for storing toiletries, and places for ablution.
